After a Mountain biking accident left me confined to a wheelchair I returned to college to study Industrial design with the purpose of being capable of creating products and experiences with a more inclusive approach. Having lived life able bodied and disabled I have been given a unique prism through which I see the world.
After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design and Innovation I became a co-founder of a number of small startups putting my new found skills to work in an entrepreneurial context. This enabled me to learn about how to add value to design and create businesses from design.
The entrepreneurial journey led me to work at a Hardware Startup accelerator based in Shenzhen, China where I had the opportunity to work with over 300 startups working in areas as diverse as robotics, wearables, automation, health and manufacturing.
On Monday 12th July 2021 I began a new adventure in Interactive Media Arts at NYU. I hope to explore how to create connections between our future selves and our present selves on this journey.
